I have practiced law in Texas and Arkansas in the area of litigation since 1977. My practice has included suits filed in counties throughout Northeast Texas and Southwest Arkansas. I have also been involved in Federal Court cases in the Eastern District of Texas and the Western District of Arkansas. I have argued cases before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans and the Eighth Circuit Courts of Appeals in St. Louis. I have handled a variety of cases, including automobile accidents, wrongful death, personal injury, all types of insurance disputes, nursing home abuse and neglect, defective products, fires and explosions, large truck accidents and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulation issues, mass tort litigation, travel trailer accidents, brain injuries, pharmaceutical injuries, complex business litigation and class actions involving the accounting and insurance industry as well as numerous first party insurance claims. I have been involved in some of the largest class actions in the U.S. I served as court appointed Co-Liaison Defense Counsel in two class actions in Miller County, Arkansas: Hensley and Chivers. The Hensley class action involved more than 500 insurance carriers which dealt with the use of the Colossus Software Program. The Chivers case involved more than 40 insurance carriers and involved homeowner’s coverage issues. I have also served as co-counsel in other class actions.

I have been Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since December, 1985 in both Personal Injury Trial Law and Civil Trial Law. I have been a member of the Litigation, Appellate Law, Computer and Technology Law, Consumer Law, Family Law, Health Law, Insurance Law, and Intellectual Property Law Sections of the State Bar of Texas; a member of the ADR, Business Litigation Section; Tort Trial and Insurance Practice; Family Law Section; Tort Section; and Intellectual Property Law Section of the Arkansas Bar Association; a member of the American Bar Association Tort, Trial and Insurance Practice Section; Litigation Section; Business Law Section; Science and Technology Law Section; and Intellectual Property Law Section. I have belonged to the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association; I have been a member of the American Association for Justice and as a member of that organization I have belonged to the Business Torts Section; Insurance Section; Products Liability Section; Nursing Home Litigation Group; Motor Vehicle Accident, Highway and Premises Liability Section; the Toxic Environmental and, Pharmaceutical Torts Section; ERISA Litigation Group; Gas, Fire and Explosion Litigation Group; and Cox 2-Litigaton Group. I have belonged to the Texas Association of Defense Counsel, the Arkansas Defense Counsel Association, and DRI. These many memberships throughout the past 30+ years and the sources available from both perspectives have given me an insight from many different angles in analyzing legal disputes.

I have handled well in excess of a thousand claims on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants involving personal injury and complex, civil trial matters. I have taken thousands of depositions in personal injury and complex civil trial matters and hundreds of Examinations under Oath in connection with arson and fraud related claims on behalf of many insurance companies as well as on behalf of individual policyholders. I am an active participant in Continuing Legal Educational courses some of which are listed below.
